1 December is World Aids Day. I live in South Africa, but I didn't actually know that little fact, until today that is.
From the moment I logged into my twitter account this morning, it has been awash with all things twitter, (RED)™ and World Aids Day. A little while ago I checked, and saw that Twitter did follow through, and painted itself in a pretty red hue for the day!
The (RED)™ guys are also trying to get something similar going on Facebook, but either the going is slow, or Facebook aren't really interested to mess around with their holy interface.
Thing is, this really worked. I personally became aware that World Aids Day is today, and it caused some banter around the office... although, I will admit it was more to do with how cool Twitter is today, and less about actual Aids Day, but hey, it's a start right?
What is a little disturbing though, is the announcement (RED)™ made about Nike joining their cause with -
Nike has created Nike (PRODUCT) RED laces – designed to fight AIDS in Africa.
How much does sound like a Zuma statement involving showers?! Eww...
